It’s been a while since I ranted and raved about what beauty products that I’m currently loving. Whilst I’m incredibly uncomfortable at the thought of posting a Youtube video, awkwardly talking to myself I thought it would be nice to share my favourites of late.
I purchased Cle de Peau’s Radiant Fluid Foundation in Bangkok Airport; it may be wrong to say this was one of the highlights of my trip but it would be the truth. After years and years of searching for a tinted moisturiser with light coverage that didn’t make my skin feel cakey or clogged up my pores I have finally found it. This is beautifully buildable so can be applied as a light wash to even out skin tone or with a heavier hand on any areas of redness or imperfections. I hate to recommend something so ruinously expensive ($125 a pop) but YOU NEED THIS. Radiant Fluid Foundation has SPF 24 and leaves skin looking dewy and luminous without too much shine. It contains an Illuminating Complex which promotes radiance. I’m incredibly low maintenance with my makeup; you won’t find me powdering or reapplying throughout the day and this certainly doesn’t need any hand-holding making it my star product of life.
I’ve developed an obsession with lip balm, especially when it smells like roses. Smith’s Rosebud salve got me started on a very dangerous path at a young age and since then I seem to have purchased any lip balm with a hint of rose (By Terry’s Baume de Rose is way up there too). I have heard wonderful things about the Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm and finally bit the bullet; this doesn’t feel heavy, it’s a moisturising slick that adds a slight pinkness to the lips. This also has an SPF 10 which makes it ideal of long days on Formentera.
This post clearly has a recurring theme: YOU NEED THIS. If you buy one thing from Duty Free this summer make sure that it’s this. I predict that it’s going to fly off the shelves so grab it while you can. Tom Ford’s Soleil Contouring Compact makes the perfect travel companion, it has a highlighter, peachy pink blush and the perfect sun kissed bronzer as well as a giant mirror. This literally lights up the skin, it’s a two weeks trip to Barbados in a compact; think of all the money you’ll save.
Another stand out star from Tom Ford’s Soleil summer collection, Moisturecore Lipstick in Scandola is effortless and makes lips look plump with a glistening sheen without looking sticky, over glossed and underloved. I pair this with my favourite lip liner (see below) for the perfect summer pout. This is so easy to apply you don’t even need a mirror and leaves lips moisturised for hours on end.
It may be raining outside my window but that’s not going to stop me from getting excited for summer. Aqua di Parma’s Arancia Di Capri has kicked Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino (also a good option) off the shelf. This is my number one summer scent (my father also wears this, it’s totally unisex). It’s clean, slightly citrusy and just brightens my mood and brings me back to Fontelina drinking copious glasses of rose and working on a deep Italian tan.
This was introduced to me during the build up to my wedding and was actually what I wore walking down the isle (clothing optional). Dervish is a natural, brown, pink (your lips but better) without turning into a Kylie Jenner nightmare. Somehow it makes me feel put together, like I’m the kind of woman who wears her hair in a chignon, sends thank you letters and wears silk pyjamas (I’m getting there). This makes over-lining lips a dream and seems to work with pretty much every single lipgloss and lipstick that I own.
Marni is a great friend of mine and also an incredibly talented makeup artist. I trust her every word and seem to purchase practically everything that she raves about (yes you By Terry Concealer). Her taste in makeup is absolutely second to none and her makeup is always breathtakingly flawless. She has recently re-launched her Youtube channel which makes Monday nights at home all the much better.
This has been my night-time product of choice recently. The warmer weather always tends to dry out my skin and has left me with little breakouts. Sunday Riley’s Luna Oil meticulously re-hydrates my skin as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines, large pores and any imperfections. It contains retinoids which equals the most magnificent complexion after sleep.
