Spring is finally here and the panic has set in that I’m not 49kgs with legs up to my eyeballs, haven’t made one plan for summer and certainly don’t have anything other than black or oversized to wear. With the beginning of a new season I like to figure out which purchases would fill the holes in my wardrobe or satisfy my online shopping addiction more than usual.
Fendi Kan I Bag
Contrary to many people, I like Fendi but don’t LOVE their bags. I think the Peekaboo is still my favourite Fendi bag however the overdone Fendi Monsters quite frankly make my skin crawl. What’s bad enough is that they’re no longer just dangling off of every Tom, Dick and Harry’s bags but more frighteningly so they’re now on t-shirts, jeans, swimsuits and even pool slides (make it go away). The recent introduction of the Kan I bag had my head turning, it’s sleek, simple, elegant and doesn’t annoy the shit out of me. The catwalk bags have whimsical scalloping which reminds me of the kind of cakes my trainer won’t let me near with a bargepole. Made in mint green, metallic pink and the perfect pinky-nude this bag is defiantly going to be a must for me for spring.
Isabel Marant Boyd Coat
Isabel Marant’s Boyd coat is the perfect spring/summer coat. It’s long enough to cover your bum (which I’m sure will be small and pert come summer time but before that happens this is a helpful staple piece) but is also in a lightweight quilted cotton. This is such a versatile piece which can be worn like a dress (a la Gigi Hadid on the runway) or over denim and t-shirts. I can imagine wearing this with anything and everything and certainly not getting fed up with it any time soon.
Attico Floral Dress
It’s no secret that I adore Attico. I’m slowly amassing quite the collection of uber-flattering midi dresses which work for absolutely any occasion. These make the perfect travel pieces because each and every piece can be worn with sandals or heels taking you from the beach to the bar (or the bar to the bar). This beautiful dress is in the most amazing blue floral print with a halter neck and a serious slit. More suited to us less well-endowed ladies, I’ve planned many an evening around this dress. Prada Feathered Dress
If we are talking dresses for spring I cannot leave out this pale pink feathered number from Prada. Something my grandmother most likely wore in the 60s hosting drinks parties at home, I can’t seem to get this out of my head. I’ve always said I would describe my style as ‘eccentric grandmother’ and this ticks all the boxes. I’m not-so-secretly hoping that my husband is reading this and simultaneously making a same-day delivery on Net-a-Porter. Find my pretty here.
Malone Souliers x Natalia Vodianova Embroidered Mules
I received these last week and have barely taken them off my feet. I’ve never taken the plunge and bought a pair of Malone Souliers shoes before however these reminded me of my favourite Vita Kin pieces – handmade, artisanal and all about beautiful quality. Whats more, a percentage of the sales goes to The Naked Heart Foundation. What could be better than the most beautiful pair of mules and doing a little bit to help out a worthy cause? Find a few remaining pairs here – make a move on these ASAP!
